When to use

When you want an aligned lens to make meaning, sense what sense is being sensed in being blindsided or feeling an ick you can use your Business Values. When you want to sense of alignment of a choice being chosen or a decision decided, you can use your Business Values as a check point to confirm or change what happens next.

Application Example, - When a subscriber unsubscribes from a business’s Email Direct Marketing (EDM) List, a feeling is often felt by the Solo Business Human (often felt as a personal rejection at first). A Solo Business Human can use one or more of their Business Values to make sense and more meaningful meaning by looking at their Business Values and asking aloud, ‘If I were to know, which of my business values am I feeling right now?’ And, when the answer is noticed (seen, heard, felt, known), then the Solo Business Human can ask, ‘Looking through the lens of [business value name] now, what’s important for me to know about this moment?’

Important Note: It is possible to have personal values and a business values. Often, business values are inspired, or commonly adapted, from the personal values of the Solo Business Human. Defining (or differentiating) the two sets of values in the personal and business contexts strengthens each value to be easier to use and more effective when applying them as a meaning making lens in the business. Moving and maturing personal values to business values (or connecting to new values for the business) is a critical step to achieving a sustainable Solo Business Structure.
